It has been a busy summer and is it ever hot!
I went shopping for a purse one day and to my discouragement the only one's I really liked were very expensive, so I decided to make one with some material I bought at a local fabric store. The material is a chocolate brown swirl with a green tear like leaf. I made 2 pockets in the front for keys and cell phone because that is a must. I put a lotion bottle in the pocket so you could see it.
This is the inside of the purse and what I did was made a pocket on the inside and free motion quilted it all over. I also included some fancy stitching around the pockets and strap. I took me maybe 3 hours to do. I love it and started to use it already.
Here is another quilt from the past of things I have made that I promised to show. This quilt was made for my niece Rosie who graduated high school this past June. This was at her graduation party when she opened her present. I am so proud of her, she is a beautiful God fearing young women, and of course she like the quilt.
If you click on the picture it will become bigger and you will be able to see her name that I free motion quilted in at the very top of the quilt with a few little matching buttons and yoyo's.

This is the back side of the quilt where I did the free motion quilting of flowers!!!! My sister and I took the girls and there friends to Magic Mountain in California, We had a blast and of course they all went on all the crazy roller coaster rides, made me sick just watching. What fun we had!!!
I am so excited to see new followers. Welcome and I hope to get to know each and everyone of you. I have had request to show my cloth dolls that I have made so that will be next time until then remember Matthew 21:22 "What ever things you ask in prayer, believing you WILL receive".
Be blessed in all you do!!!

Independence Weekend!!

We had a very busy weekend for the 4th of July. Our church held its annual Harvesters conference when many pastors return to BHC for time of refreshing and fellowship. I have been working on a quilt for one particular couple that happened to be my daughters youth pastor for many years. Him and his wonderful wife pastor a church in Myrtle Beach, NC. So I had this brain storm idea to do them a beach quilt. I was so excited to give it to them because it turned out so cute.

I free motion quilted thier names in the sand that said " Josh & Julie" above the flip flops and under the flip flops wrote "Forever". I am still learning the art of free motion quilting, but I do love it.

This is the back and I found some very cute flip flop fabric to make the back side a little more interesting. Well it was a hit they loved it. Acts 20:35 And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive."

It was also Naomi's and Nicole's Birthday. We had a huge party for them at my house to celebrate. What a great time we had.

Well that is all for now but more to come.
Have a blessed day!!

Past Quilts

This is my sewing room.

My husband bought me a Janome 6500 for my birthday and made the table that it sits in. I have my own sewing room that I love and find myself in there a lot. The quilt on the wall is a Sun Bonnet Sue quilt I made years ago for myself, the quilt on the table is the quilt I made for my friend Margaret for her Birthday.
This was a pinwheel quilt I made for my nephew's new son Raymond III.

This quilt I made for my friends 1st granddaughter Olivia.

This quilt was made for my other friends 1st grandson Bryce. It is so cool to have all these new baby's around. Well there are more but that will have to be another day. Have a bless day!! Ruth
